“I always knew I wanted to run my own business but I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do,” said Erin McCloskey. “On a whim I decided to try jewelry design.” That was in 2009. McCloskey’s elegant silver designs proved popular and in now she designs and creates jewelry full-time as the proprietor of Pear & Peacock.
“I work primarily with earth friendly, non-mined, recycled fine silver,” the designer said, and her pieces often reflect organic forms.
A regular participant at INDIEana Handicraft Exchange events and an early addition to Homespun’s roster of makers, McCloskey has developed a following in central Indiana. It’s just one of the unpredicted outcomes from following her whim.
“It is a continuing adventure and I am loving every minute of it,” she said.
Fun Facts: I married my high school sweetheart, I’m vegan, and I’m constantly trying to learn something new; it’s an obsession.
