ICYMI: This Week at the Shop
January 5

ICYMI: January 5

It’s our first ICYMI blog of the New Year! And with the self-care movement of last year still in full swing, we think 2018 can be your most-relaxed year yet!

Treat yo’self to our handmade bath-and-body products like coconut oil body butters from Skinny & Co. and face masks from 407 Botanicals. And you can’t forget your feet! Try foot soaks, creams, scrubs, and balms from Southern Hospitality. Get your mind in focus with essential oil rollers and blends from D’Earth’s All Naturals, Twig + Birdie Apothecary, and Teehaus.

And while you’re on the self-care road, be sure to write down those 2018 goals in one of our hand-bound notebooks! You can have a full relax and recharge regimen just from our shelves!

Cards, Cards, All Types of Cards

In case you never noticed, our card selection is kind of off the hook (yes, still using that phrase in 2018).  You won’t find cats dressed up like sailors on any cards from your local convenience store, or same-sex marriage cards either. And we have both. And more. Much, much more. And most of our cards are blank inside, so you can personalize away (and avoid the sappy if you’d like).

Speaking of You Time…

After being so giving last month, it’s okay to be selfish in January. The next time you stop in, browse our jewelry selection and pick up something new for the New Year. We’re constantly receiving new stock and styles from our artists!

Gifts for the Big and Small

Okay, so we can’t stop talking about babies. We know so many expecting ladies and the thought of little ones bouncing around is already making our 2018 brighter.

From baby booties, to bibs, and unicorn crowns, we have everything for a handmade birthday gift for the tots of all ages. And don’t forget a card. Yes, we have new baby cards too (of course).

All the Cozy

Until these frigid temperatures go away, we’ll be dreaming about desert like heat and all the fleece, wool, and knit things we can find. Find cozy fleece ponchos, shearling-lined cowls, and knit hats in store to keep you warm during our Indiana tundra.

And while you’re glued to your couch (because who’s going outside in this?), keep yourself warm with a hand-knit blanket from Fore Folk, light a candle from The Onyx Exchange, and sip on some warm Bota Chai from Sobro Cafe. It’s like your winter survival kit.

Oh, and almost forgot to mention those new Southwest inspired ring holders from Linnea Campbell Ceramics. They fit nicely into your winter survival kit as well (bringing you warm thoughts, you know?).

First Friday Featuring Grace Beck TONIGHT!

Every month Homespun: Modern Handmade hosts a celebration in collaboration with iDADA’s First Friday events. Our shows change every other month with various artists showcasing work in painting, illustration, photography, ceramics, and so much more.

For the months of January and February, we invite you to take a look at the work of Herron School of Art & Design graduate, Grace Beck. Finely detailed, and continuous line work is juxtaposed against texture, -paying homage to Grace’s background in both drawing and sculpture.

Complete with treats and refreshments, we will have an opening reception of the work tonight, January 5th, from 6pm-8pm in store. We look forward to seeing you then!

That concludes this week’s ICYMI for January 5th. Stay warm and cozy out there Indy and we hope to see you tonight for First Friday! -Amanda D.
