Workshop: Textile Design: Dreamcatchers

April 11, 2015 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Bewitchingly beautiful with a rich cultural history, dreamcatchers are the ultimate home decor item as well as a powerful protective talisman. First made by the Ojibwe people, dreamcatchers were later adopted by many Native American tribes and are seen as a symbol of unity linking the nations. The folklore says that dreamcatchers ensnare  bad dreams and only let the good ones flow through. Students will recieve all supplies for this workshop, but you are welcome to bring in any special stones, knick-knacks or feathers if you want to personalize your dreamcatcher further.

Instructor Savannah Norris is a freelance stylist whom also happens to be one of our new assistant managers here at Homespun: Modern Handmade. An Art Institute of Indianapolis alum, she has done styling work for several local and national theatres, shops, restaurants, and magazines. Not to mention she is just an all around crafty lady with seamstress, illustration, design, carpentry, and palm reading skills. For more information on the instructor and to see her lovely work visit her Instagram page here.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
