Workshop: Jewelry Making: Wire Wrapping Basics
November 21, 2015 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
It’s nearly the season of giving, and this jewelry workshop will kill three birds with one stone: give yourself the gift of DIY jewelry skills, then give yourself and a friend a unique, handmade gemstone piece! Rana Salame Striedinger of Salame Jewelry Designs will be in store teaching wire wrapping and basic jewelry assembly techniques, allowing students to source from her carefully curated cache of precious gemstones to make two unique items – one to gift, and one to keep (or keep both, we won’t tell!). Make two necklaces, two pairs of earrings, or one necklace and one pair of earrings – you choose!
A variety of chains, closures, and ear wires will be available in silver, gold, and antique brass metals (all are lead and nickel free). Available gemstone types vary in forms of jasper, turquoise, chalcedony, jade, onyx, raw quartz, and more. All supplies and use of tools are included in the cost of the workshop. A limited supply of higher-quality gemstones will be available for an additional cost during the workshop and will be marked as such in the gemstone trays should you choose to upgrade. Square payments will be accepted.
Please be sure to purchase your tickets at least 48 hours in advance, as the workshop needs a minimum number of attendees to run. If the minimum is not reached, tickets will NOT be sold at the door.
