Workshop: Jam! (10am – 2pm)
June 24, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Time to kick out the summer jams! Jams, jellies, preserves, and more are a simple, fun way to keep the taste of summer alive all year ’round. Indiana is home to a great variety of wild-grown edibles, and food preservation has long been in our agricultural history. Homespun photographer Rana Salame’s property in Anderson, Indiana is full of blackberries and mulberries, and she’s invited friends of Homespun to her share in her bounty.
Participants in this workshop will pick their own berries and process them with Rana’s assistance. Children are welcome – a snack will be served. Bring a basket or bucket for picking and wear clothing that can get dirty or stained. Pants are necessary for working in the thick plant areas. Bring a beverage to stay hydrated.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
This workshop is open to all ages.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Participants must drive to Rana’s property in Anderson, Indiana.
What can/can’t I bring to the event?
Most supplies are included in the cost of the workshop. Students should wear workshop-appropriate clothing as stated above (pants, OK to get stained), bring a bucket or basket for picking, and a beverage to stay hydrated.
