Workshop: Dreamcatchers

January 19, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Bewitchingly beautiful with a rich cultural history, dreamcatchers are the ultimate home decor item as well as a powerful protective talisman. First made by the Ojibwe people, dreamcatchers were later adopted by many Native American tribes and are seen as a symbol of unity linking the nations. The folklore says that dreamcatchers ensnare bad dreams and only let the good ones flow through. Students will recieve all supplies for this workshop, but you are welcome to bring in any special stones, knick-knacks, or feathers if you want to personalize your dreamcatcher further. Savannah, the instructor, will also be answering questions about symbolism in dream interpretation.

Savannah Norris is a freelance stylist as well as an assistant manager here at Homespun: Modern Handmade. An Art Institute of Indianapolis alum, she has done styling work for several local and national theatres, shops, restaurants, and magazines. A jack of all trades, Savannah has experience as a seamstress, illustrator, designer, carpenter, and palm reader. For more information on the instructor, and to see her lovely work, visit her Instagram page here.
