The National Library Bindery Company is a truly marvelous hidden gem right here in Indy. They are currently nestled in a modern office building on State Ave, but upon walking through the doors, its like stepping into the past. Since 1873, the bindery has faithfully preserved traditional bookmaking techniques developed during the turn of the century. Originally established to convey the written word to the early settlers and  pioneers of the Wild West, the bindery now specializes in producing high-end, deluxe edition books, archival quality preservation of publications, and restoration of antique books. The bindery has recently expanded to offering year-round bookmaking classes to the Indianapolis community.
